News about the formation of a regional group in Australia

Following our inaugural meeting in Adelaide in October 2010, a number of you expressed interest – in several cases, in principle – in forming an Australasian network of the International Confederation of Architectural Museums. The icam Board supported the establishment of the network.

Proposals for papers (max. 500 words) together with a curriculum vitae and a list of publications should be addressed by e-mail to by 15 February 2011 .
Replies will follow no later than 15 April 2011.
The papers of the workshop (or a selection) will, subject to peer review, be published by Leuven University Press in the KADOC-Artes series.

Another view on Renaat Braem

In 2010 the much-discussed Belgian architect Renaat Braem (1910-2001) would have been 100 years old. Several institutions take this occasion to hold Braem related events. Within this particular context APA (Architectuurarchief Provincie Antwerpen) has launched the website ‘De balans van Braem / The balance of Braem’. Braem was not only one of the more important Belgian modernists of his time, he also published an endless flow of publications in which he criticized Belgian architecture.

Bruno Morassutti: architettura e costruzione

The figure and work of Morassutti over the last few years has acquired a degree of critical acclaim, leaving his mark upon contemporary architectonic culture. The particularitity of his formative years of study, his professional debut, the works realized with Mangiarotti and Favini, his architecture planned and built from the 1960s to the present as well as his approach to planning are the reasons why architects and researchers are interested to know more about him.
