The architecture of the Weimar Republic period in Legnica, one of the most important towns in the Lower Silesia is still hardly known to historians. A lot of research was done on the architecture of nearby but much larger Wrocław with its works by Hans Poelzig, Max Berg or Erich Mendelsohn. Laurent Pernot - Particles

In order to conjure up a little atmosphere at the darkest time of the year, a video installation entitled Particles, by the French artist Laurent Pernot, has been set up at the Alvar Aalto Museum. The work is made up of hundreds of glass marbles arranged on the floor, which sparkle and shine like drops of water when the light strikes them in the dark room.

Ole Bouman new director of the Netherlands Architecture Institute (NAI)
The New Institute, (former Netherlands Architecture Institute NAI)

The Supervisory Board of the Netherlands Architecture Institute has appointed Ole Bouman (1960) as its new director. He will succeed Aaron Betsky, who recently left the NAI to join the Cincinnati Art Museum. Ole Bouman will take up his new position on April 1 2007.
