AAA/Italia promotes the Second National Day of the Architectural Archives. On 18th May 2012 – in connection with the International Museum Day launched by ICOM (Museums in a Changing World. New Challenges, new inspirations) – the network of museums, archives and university centres gathering in the National association of contemporary architectural archives open the collections and host special events.

The main aim is to raise the consciousness of the values of our most recent history. Architectural archives and architecture of the second XX Century represent a heritage at deep risk, neglected because not recognized by the citizens. The advanced research programmes run in the last decades must be accessible to the wide public of non specialists, especially to the young citizens.

From the Archival collections AAA/Italia invites to a tour to the heritage at risk. A map of emergencies is designed all over the country and launched simultaneosly in the various events. From the market and parking site in Roma designed by Riccardo Morandi to the Housing in Rovereto by Luciano Baldessari and the Housing Barca in Bologna by Giuseppe Vaccaro.

AAA/Italia invites to this challenging tour the General Directorades of Archives and of Contemporary art and architecture and Docomomo Italia.

AAA/Italia invites International networks and institutions to become partner of the project.
