Neohellenic Architecture Archives – Benaki Museum

The Modern Greek Architecture Archives (M.G.A.A.) of the Benaki Museum were founded in April 1995. The objective is to collect all the diverse material such as drawings, notes, publications, photographs, models etc. related to the architecture and urban design of the neohellenic state, from its establishment in 1828 until today.  The archival holdings are exceptionally rich as regards the architecture of the period between the two wars; the architecture of the time presents an impressive variety in style and form, ranging from late neoclassical to eclecticism, from the arts and crafts to the modern movement (J.Despotopoulos, A.Zahos, N.Mitsakis, K.Biris, A.Nikoloudis, K.Panayiotakos, D.Pikionis).
