The Fundació Mies van der Rohe in Barcelona develops its activity based on programs linked to the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion; programs linked to the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture (Mies van der Rohe Awards and traveling exhibitions) and research, dissemination and debate programs. The Foundació generates research and debate on modern and contemporary architecture, and especially in relation to concepts that are now fundamental as identity, social inclusion and all aspects of sustainability.

As part of its programming, the Fundació Mies van der Rohe publishes a catalogue of each edition of the EU Mies Awards, in which the works presented and/or selected are documented, with the intention of creating a reference and communication tool for current architectural production.
