Robin Boyd Foundation

The Robin Boyd Foundation is the custodian of Robin Boyd’s legacy and Walsh Street – the home he designed for his family in 1957. Located in South Yarra, Melbourne, Walsh Street is a house museum made accessible through the Foundation’s program of tours, talks, exhibitions, and workshops that activate and increase community awareness, dialogue, understanding, and participation in Australian architecture and design. Off-site and online, the Foundation offers further activities, including open days, 3D tours, research resources, competitions, and symposiums.

Collection
The Walsh Street Archive comprises over 4000 documents (manuscripts, architectural drawings, newspaper clippings and correspondence), artefacts (artworks, furniture, library and functional household items) and audiovisual items (animations, records, slides and films). The collection offers insight into Boyd’s contributions as an architect, author, critic, and public educator, as well as a view into family life at Walsh Street during the 1950s and ’60s.
