Yayasan Museum Arsitektur Indonesia (YMAI)

The Yayasan Museum Arsitektur Indonesia (YMAI) is the Foundation for the Indonesian Architecture Museum, a body established to develop and promote Indonesian architecture, notably through its online platform, Arsitektur Indonesia – a digital museum showcasing historical documents, figures, and discourse – and physical exhibitions, aiming to define and map the breadth of Indonesian architectural practice from traditional to modern styles. Founded in 2019, YMAI organizes events, lectures, and exhibitions to foster research and appreciation within the field.

Collection
The Indonesian Architecture Museum Foundation includes Arsitek Indoneisa, an online repository focusing its collection on historical documents concerning architectural works, figures, and discourses in and about Indonesia, particularly those produced during or leading up to independence and up to the present. Since 2016, this collection has been directed towards explaining the broad definition of “Indonesian Architecture” and is also expected to map the range of diverse architectural practices and discourses in Indonesia.
