Alvar Aalto Foundation

The Alvar Aalto Foundation maintains the material and intellectual legacy of the world-famous architect and designer Alvar Aalto, and acts to make his work and thinking more widely known. The Alvar Aalto Foundation has four sites that are open to the public: the Alvar Aalto Museum and Muuratsalo Experimental House in Jyväskylä and the Aalto House and Studio Aalto in Helsinki.

Collection
Focus: local, national, international buildings fragments, furniture and glassware. The collection is accessible by computer, and the archives include documents, correspondence and models. Institution does not have a conservation laboratory; drawings cannot be reproduced. The Photo Archive consists of Black-and-white photographs, both vintage and newly commissioned as well as transparencies.
